WIND Mobile
In 2008, Globalive Wireless successfully obtained spectrum in Industry Canada’s Advanced Wireless Spectrum auction, enabling them to build Canada’s fourth national wireless provider. Without any products or services in market, Narrative was tasked with building Globalive’s profile in order to prime Canadians for the new service provider to be launched later in the year. In response, Narrative created Wireless Soapbox, an online forum where Canadians had the opportunity to tell Globalive what they wanted to see in Canada’s next great wireless company. The forum became a popular destination for Canadians to share their ideas, feedback and desires for Canada’s next national wireless company. The forum also positioned Globalive as a company who truly cared and responded to their future customers, building credibility and loyalty before ever having a product in market!
One year later, Narrative launched Globalive’s wireless brand WIND Mobile in a highly anticipated event attended by droves of media and a loyal following of ready-to-be customers!
A company built on customer-generated ideas, WIND Mobile has had the most anticipated wireless company launch in Canadian history and received incredibly favourable media attention nation-wide and globally. Narrative was also instrumental in positioning WIND Chairman Anthony Lacavera as an industry thought-leader and prominent industry name, sought after by business, consumer, telecom and tech media.
Since the Toronto launch, Narrative has launched WIND in three new markets, developed and executed buzz-worthy activations, developed creative media relations campaigns around new promotions and offers and continues to work tirelessly to maintain WIND’s track record of positive earned media coverage.
As a result of our work, Narrative took home a Gold PR Ace Award in 2008.
